__ללא_תוכן__ לפי המadjective בתנ"ך, ישעיהו בן אמוץ היה נביא שפעל בממלכת יהודה בימי המלכים עוזיהו, יותם, אחז וחזקיהו. פירוש השם "ישעיהו", הוא, לפי פרשן המקרא משה דוד קאסוטו, "יושיע ה'" או "ה' המושיע". על פי פרשנות של פרק ו' בספרו כנבואת הקדשה, התחיל ישעיהו להתנבא רק בשנת מותו של המלך עוזיהו (757 לפנה"ס). אפשר שהמשיך ישעיהו להתנבא גם בימי מנשה המלך, אך זה לא נכתב בפירוש. ישעיהו בן אמוץ נחשב לאחד הנביאים החשובים, המרכזיים והמשפיעים בנבואה הישראלית הקלאסית. על פי חז"ל, היה גם אביו, אמוץ, נביא, לפי הכלל שנביא שנזכר שם אביו הוא נביא בן נביא. לפי מסורת חז"ל, אחיו של אמוץ היה אמציה מלך יהודה.
